Cartooning - This year, Creativity4Learning will be offering 2 sessions of Creative Cartooning you can sign up for. You can sign up for either one or BOTH (there is a discount for signing up for BOTH). In cartooning, we will learn to draw 1 “famous” character and 1 or 2 cartoon animals each week. Drama Kids - A unique, fun, and imaginative drama curriculum helps to build your child’s acting skills, creative thinking, speaking skills, confidence, leadership abilities, and self-esteem. FUNdamental Science (K-5) For years educators have stressed that students learn better “by doing” – especially in the sciences. Students of all ages learn more science-content and skills when they engage in investigation and discovery using everyday materials and the basic equipment of science. Inquiry based learning builds critical thinking skills which are important to decision making in all aspects of our children’s lives. Our carefully designed inquiry centered lessons capture children’s natural curiosity and help engage them in observation, measurement, identification of properties, and experimentation involving life, earth, environmental and physical science concepts.
Fun With Food - We will experiment, taste, smell, assemble, and play with food. We will also learn about healthy eating habits, food appreciation (health benefits, availability and beauty), we will incorporate math+science+art, kitchen safety, sanitation and lots more! Guitar Club - 3rd through 5th get their hands on a ‘real’ guitar and receive instruction on all the basics, including how to hold the guitar, how to read guitar music, how to strum & pick as they learn well-known songs and melodies. Kid Chess - Chess is a Gymnasium for Your Brain. Participation in Chess has been shown to increase test scores in reading and math. MovieMaker Pro STEM + Art - We aim to SPARK the excitement of young people for ART, SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY in a setting that allows them to explore, question, and experiment with fascinating facts, projects and activities. Students will learn step-by-step how to make their very own 2D & 3D animation movies! Beginning with creating sets, characters and scripts students will create all of the elements necessary to produce their very own animated film….but the fun doesn’t stop there! Overtime Athletics - emphasis on FUNdamentals, and enthusiasm for combining athletic games, contests, and instruction creates a positive environment for young participants to succeed. Scientific Robotics (Grades 2-5): Let’s Build a Robot! The fantastic, real world benefits of making and programming robots. Terrific Scientific Robotic Programs uses LEGO® bricks, KNEX, StarBots, Goldiblocks, etc that emphasize a mixture of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) and great tools that foster imaginative thinking. Our programs are designed for youth 6-15 years old. Science is, by its nature, inquiry based. Inquiry is an approach to learning that utilizes discovery and scientific thinking processes to explore knowledge and learn skills. In order to achieve this, facilitators of inquiry based learning must create an environment rich with experiences that allow learners to act on their own curiosity.
Spanish Enrichment Class - This is an ideal age and great opportunity for your child to start learning a second language.
